Balanga City, Bataan”•Vice Governor Cris Garcia has reiterated the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to the province’s housing program being pushed by Gov. Abet Garcia.
“We are one in our advocacy for the province in line with our vision of highest Human Development Index [HDI] in the country,” the vice governor said in her message during the groundbreaking of the NHA Balanga City low-rise housing project in upland Brgy. Tenejero here.
Access to decent housing is an HDI indicator, the vice governor noted.
“The SP will always support Bataeno families,” she also said.
“Your new place is flood-free, and there are many plants [to prevent flooding],” Garcia also told the recipients attending the groundbreaking.
Garcia led Bataan officials in the groundbreaking activity along with Rep. Joet Garcia, Mayor Francis Garcia, NHA Regional manager Araceli Natino, and other officials.
On Friday, Bataan top officials also attended the turnover of 100 housing units at NHA-constructed Mariveles Heights Resettlement Project in Brgy. Cabcaben, Mariveles.
A total of 975 residential units will be built in the resettlement site.
Board Members Popoy Del Rosario, Iya Roque, Ed Calimbas, Pepeng Villapando, and Rosita Sison also attended the turnover ceremony.
Gov. Garcia is pushing for the construction of housing projects to provide decent houses to local residents and remove them from dangerous zones in line with the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Project of the national government.
