TUGUEGARAO—The Provincial Government of Cagayan and its 11 local government units have received P43 million in calamity assistance from Malacañang through Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” T. Go at the Capitol Gym here.
Gov. Manuel Mamba assisted Sen. Go in distributing the assistance coming from President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for the province and 11 municipalities that were greatly affected by previous calamities that have hit the province.
Mamba expressed his gratitude to the President for his continuous support of Cagayan, following the floods that inundated much of northern Luzon late last year.
“In my 33 years as a public servant, this is the first time I have perceived the compassion, the care and the love of our national government to our people in this present administration,” Mamba stressed.
The governor, Vice Governor Melvin K. Vargas, and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan received the province’s aid of P10 million. The mayors of the towns of Abulug, Ballesteros, Claveria, Pamplona, Sanchez Mira, Allacapan, Lasam, Sta Praxedes, Tuao, Aparri and Tuguegarao City all received P3 million each.
Present during the awarding were Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission chief Greco Belgica, Undersecretary Aimee Neri of the Department of Social Walfare and Development, and Secretary Michael Dino of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas.
Meanwhile, Senator Go urged the public to support Duterte in his drive against corruption, criminality and drugs, to realize and pursue the programs of the government in the alleviation of Filipinos lives.
“This is the proper time to visit the masses and give solution to the problems of the Filipino and not just during the election period, Go emphasized.
