Lunar New Year feasts

Usher in the Year of the Metal Rat together with family over an auspicious meal featuring dishes believed to bring good luck, abundance, and harmony throughout the year.

Crystal Dragon

Magnificent Set Menu

City of Dream’s Chinese restaurant Crystal Dragon serves a la carte and set menus for lunch and dinner until Jan. 31. 

Diners can toss to a prosperous Lunar New Year with a bountiful serving of Prosperity Abalone Yu Sheng and choose between two set menus. 

The seven-course Happiness Menu (P3,080++) consists of Braised Sea Treasure Broth; Deep-fried Crab Claws and Minced Shrimp Kataifi; Steamed Dried Oyster Stuffed in Bean Curd Skin; Sautéed Celery with Lotus Roots, Lily Bulbs, and Macadamia Nuts; Wok-fried Nian Gao and Minced Pork with XO Sauce; and Chilled Peach Jelly, Bird Nest, and Shredded Coconut. 

The eight-course Magnificent Menu (P5,680++) offers Double-boiled Black Chicken Soup with Chinese Ham, Conpoy, Maca, and Fish Maw; Steamed Cod Fish Fillet with Black Truffle Sauce; Wok-fried Tiger Prawn with Creamy Butter Lemon Sauce; Braised Sea Cucumber, Flower Mushroom, Abalone, and Brocolli; Sauteed Celery, Lotus Root, Scallops and Lily Bulbs; Wok-fried Fragrant Rice with Dried Scallops and Sea Urchin Sauce; and ends with a serving of Deep-fried Trio Layer of Tikoy with Osmanthus Sauce.

Kobe Platter

Japanese-Peruvian restaurant Nobu Manila joins in the festivities with its special Lunar New Year dishes. 

Among the celebratory dishes are the Sushi and Sashimi Platter (P3,500++) that comes with fresh salmon, tuna, white fish, ebi, toro, wagyu, ikura, uni, and oyster; the Lapu-Lapu served New Style in Black Bean Sauce (P4, 000++) with yuzu soy, chives, ginger, garlic, and sesame seeds; and the Kobe Platter (P6,000++), which consists of a filling medley of gyoza, tacos, sliders, and croquettes. 

Nobu Manila’s Chinese New Year offerings are available for the whole month of January. 

Flame

Five Spice Duck Confit

Discovery Primea’s Flame Restaurant celebrates the Year of the Metal Rat with a special Chef’s Tasting Menu carefully prepared by Executive Chef Luis Chikiamco.  

The meal begins with a Kung Pao Shrimp Salad with mandarin orange and cashew nuts, then followed by Pan-Seared Foie Gras with ginger-rice “soubise” thee-vinegar reduction, smoked duck breast, and soft egg sous vide.

The third course features tender Lemongrass-Steamed Chilean Sea Bass with XO risotto, Asian “gremolata” and scallions, followed by a Flame favorite, the Five Spice Duck Leg Confit with take-out Dan Dan noodles, minced pork, sesame paste, peanuts, and bok choy.  

The meal ends on a sweet note with Almond Panna Cotta with dragon fruit salad, sesame croquant, and lychee sorbet.

The multi-course Oriental feast exclusively available for dinner on Jan 24-25 is priced at P2,500++ per person.

Corniche

Chinese New Year celebrations start early at Diamond Hotel as guests can enjoy Corniche restaurant’s Chinese chef Yang Yong’s vast selection of authentic Chinese specialties for P3,180 nett per person from Jan. 23 to 26. 

For a minimum spend of P5,000 at the buffet, guests are entitled to Pick-a-Prize at the hotel’s Prosperity Tree for a chance to win gift certificates and other premium items.

On Jan. 25, the day that marks the Chinese New Year, guests will witness an energetic Dragon and Lion dance at 11:00 a.m. by the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation. 

Free 10-minute feng shui consultations with expert Angel Macalino are also available on this day for a minimum spend of P5,000 at the Corniche lunch buffet. Diners at Corniche will also be gifted with ang pau containing vouchers up to 40 percent off at the restaurants on their next visit.

Corniche will also serve Chinese Lauriat set menu served at an exclusive dining area within the restaurant. Weekend Dim sum Delights, meanwhile, features an extensive choice of steamed, baked, and fried dim sum for P999 nett per person.
