Citicore, a renewable energy company, has joined other private companies in providing relief assistance in Batangas province.
Citicore, in cooperation with the firm’s Citicore Foundation, has mobilized employees on Jan. 16 to volunteer in the distribution of Malasakit packs composed of 5,000 bottles of drinking water, 500 cup noodles, 1,000 assorted clothes and undergarments, 100 mats and 150 blankets for the victims of Taal Volcano’s eruption.
Citicore Foundation visited evacuation centers in the towns of Alitagtag, Balayan and Tuy in Batangas province.
Citicore president Oliver Tan said the company and its foundation are continuously coordinating with other concerned local government units in order to extend more relief assistance to other affected areas.
“Our teams are also helping in assessing immediate needs of the affected residents,” Tan said.
“Citicore would like to extend whatever help we can to the affected residents especially to senior citizens as they are the ones most vulnerable to respiratory diseases brought about by the ash fall,” he said.
