Thirty individuals, all instrumental in today’s Philippine fashion industry, will be awarded in the upcoming Metrowear Style Awards.
As part of its 30th anniversary, Metro honors top designers, muses, and photographers who have helped the magazine inspire and transform lives for three decades.
In addition to collaborating with the magazine, the 30 personalities were chosen based on their significant contributions to their respective fields.
First set of awardees consists of the 10 photographers—Xander Angeles, Sara Black, Jun de Leon, Dookie Ducay, Raymund Isaac, Mark Nicdao, Neal Oshima, BJ Pascual, Doc Marlon Pecjo, and Ronnie Salvacion—who have created some of Metro’s most iconic images.
“With works ranging from art to editorial to commercial, they have produced stunning cover images for the magazine’s three-decade history,” Metro said in a statement.
Metrowear Icons and this year’s awardees Auggie Cordero, Patty Ang, Mark Bumgarner, Lulu Tan Gan, Rajo Laurel, Michael Leyva, Randy Ortiz, Vania Romoff, Cary Santiago, and Joey Samson are noted for their creative visions expressed in Metro covers or through the Metrowear fashion show.
Finally, 10 muses—Angel Aquino, Iza Calzado, Kim Chiu, Anne Curtis, Heart Evangelista, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Kelsey Merritt, Tina Maristela-Ocampo, Bea Valdes, and Pia Wurtzbach—will once again take the spotlight and make their mark during the awards night.
“They have not only graced the cover of Metro but have also made noteworthy contributions to the fashion industry whether as models, celebrity muses, designers, or global influencers.”
