SM City Bataan recently gathered 600 volunteers for the International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) initiative.
They were able to remove 876 kilos of waste from coastlines and mangrove areas in the province. Volunteers who participated include employees, community members, and representatives from local agencies.
SM Bataan public relations officer Paula Gayeta said the participation of SM City Bataan in the ICC highlights the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders in addressing the environmental challenges.
She added the clean-up effort is part of a broader commitment by SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, which focuses on promoting sustainable practices and community engagement.
