Romualdez, Lakas-CMD solidify support for ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ alliance

Speaker Martin Romualdez on Thursday called on all political parties supporting the administration and on the people, in general, to sustain the country’s progress achieved under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

Romualdez made the call as the political party he heads, the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), solidified their support for the Marcos administration through the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas (Alliance for the New Philippines) coalition.

He told his party mates and members of other political groups attending the Alyansa convention at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City that under President Marcos, “we have already seen the beginnings of real progress.”

“We have witnessed a government that works tirelessly to uplift our economy, secure our future, and restore the hope of every Filipino family. But we all know that the journey doesn’t end here. In fact, it is just beginning,” he said.

“Our alliance proves that despite our differences, we share the same goal: to build a nation where every Filipino can live with dignity, where children can dream without limits, and where the most vulnerable among us are never forgotten,” he said.

Romualdez described the birth of the multi-party alliance as “a significant milestone in our country’s history.”

During the event, President Marcos bared their powerhouse senatorial ticket for the May 2025 elections, including Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Sen. Pia Cayetano, former Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Lito Lapid, Sen. Imee Marcos, former Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Ramon Revilla, Jr., former Sen. Vicente Sotto III, ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo, Sen. Francis Tolentino and Rep. Camille Villar.

Romualdez said the administration coalition “is built on a solid foundation of service to the people, and we are united by a shared purpose: to uplift the lives of every Filipino, to create a future where our country thrives, and to ensure that no one is left behind.”
