Isolated rain showers attributed to easterlies—PAGASA

Metro Manila as well as parts of Central Luzon and Calabarzon experienced moderate to heavy rainfall on Tuesday afternoon, which the state weather bureau attributed to easterlies.

Easterlies are defined as winds blowing from the east. These are affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, according to the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA warned of moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds over the provinces of Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Quezon, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna. There was also no low pressure area monitored.

Metro Manila (including the cities of Quezon, Caloocan, Pasig, San Juan, Manila and Marikina) as well as parts of Bulacan, Batangas, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija, meanwhile, experienced intense to torrential rain showers with lightning and strong winds.

PAGASA advised the general public to take precautionary measures against impacts associated with these environmental hazards, such as flash floods and landslides, and keep monitoring official weather updates.
