The Philippine Navy’s Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) conducted a simultaneous coastal clean-up in Zamboanga Peninsula.
NFWM Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Chester Ross Cabaltera said the sailors teamed up to clean coastal areas in R.T. Lim Boulevard, San Jose Cawa-Cawa, and Caragasan Beach along the Zamboanga West Coastal Road.
“The clean-up was carried out with the support of various military units, the Zamboanga City government, and community partners,” Cabaltera said.
At the R.T. Lim Boulevard site, NFWM partnered with various local organizations and authorities to collect over 100 sacks of trash.
Concurrently, NAVSOU-6 led another clean-up at Caragasan Beach, gathering more than 60 sacks of waste from the beach and underwater.
These efforts aim to raise awareness about plastic pollution and promote sustainability as NFWM prepares for its 28th anniversary.
