Northern Luzon LPA makes it a rainy Sunday

A low pressure area (LPA) east of Northern Luzon is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands this Sunday.

State weather bureau PAGASA noted the southwest monsoon or ‘hanging habagat’ will continue to bring occasional to frequent rains Ilocos region, Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, while the rest of the archipelago will be partly cloudy to cloudy with possibilities of localized rain showers or thunderstorms.

By Monday, the LPA may move generally northwestward and away from the country, and its influence on the southwest monsoon may also weaken, according to PAGASA.

Ilocos region may experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with brief rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

From Tuesday until Friday, the whole archipelago will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
