The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Thursday that the death toll from tropical cyclones Ferdie, Gener, and Helen, along with the enhanced southwest monsoon, rose to 23.
In its latest situational report, the NDRRMC said Mimaropa recorded nine fatalities; four each in Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and two in Central Visayas.
Fifteen individuals were also reported missing—12 in Mimaropa, two in Zamboanga Peninsula, and one in Western Visayas. Thirteen people also sustained injuries—seven in BARMM, three in Mimaropa, two in Soccsksargen, and one in Zamboanga Peninsula.
Reports of casualties and missing persons are still being validated.
As of this posting, the combined effects of the weather disturbances affected 298,633 families or a total of 1,061,421 individuals across 1,441 barangays in 13 regions.
Around 18,466 families or 63,360 individuals are currently sheltered in 634 evacuation centers, while another 14,165 families or 61,123 people are receiving aid outside.
Overall, 1,243 houses incurred damage across 10 regions due to bad weather.
