A man was killed Tuesday after trading fires with operatives during a buy bust operation in Davao City.
Law enforcement authorities said the incident happened in Barangay Ilang, Davao City, Tuesday afternoon. Operatives of Sasa Police conducted a buy bust operation at around 4 pm.
The suspect was considered as one of the top five high value individuals in Davao City, according to police officers. His identity has been withheld.
Authorities said he managed to buy illegal drugs and when the operatives were about to apprehend him, the suspect resisted and tried to flee from the scene.
Cops managed to corner him later and the suspect immediately fired at them. The police retaliated and shot the suspect.
The suspect was brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center, but was declared dead on arrival.
The police recovered a gun and ammunition from the suspect.
The incident is still under investigation.
