The Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool Philippines held its inaugural Grandparents Day celebration at its Agno Street office in Quezon City on Sept. 6, 2024.
Jane Sy, the school directress, expressed gratitude to the grandparents for their dedication and support.
“To our grandparents, you are the priceless pillar of our family,” Sy said.
“With your guidance, love, and all the effort and sacrifices that you have made, you all deserve a warm round of applause,” she said.
The day featured a series of student-led performances and gift-giving activities. Each student prepared a handmade token of appreciation for their grandparents.
The event also included video messages where grandchildren expressed their thanks and shared personal messages of love.
Tzu Chi volunteer Lino Sy led icebreaker games to encourage interaction and fun among participants. The games included arranging themselves by age and sharing their birthdays.
The activity’s highlights included lively bonding activities where grandparents and grandchildren competed in games like pyramid cups and shooting colorful balls into baskets.
The celebration ended with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed appreciation for the special bond between grandparents and their grandchildren.
Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool’s Grandparents Day was a testament to the enduring importance of family and the cherished role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren.
