The Temporary Protection Order (TPO) for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City has been declared null and void by the Court of Appeals, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Davao Region.
“The court ruled that the Amparo case, closely tied to the cases filed against Apollo Quiboloy, falls within the scope of the Supreme Court’s May 27…resolution, which governs cases involving the enforcement of warrants of arrest against Apollo Quiboloy and four others,” the police regional office posted.
“The court emphasized that allowing the Davao Regional Trial Court to continue hearing the case would undermine the Supreme Court’s mandate,” it added.
The aforementioned TPO was issued by Judge Mario Duaves of Davao Regional Trial Court Branch 15.
Since August 24, the PNP has been trying to serve an arrest warrant against Quiboloy, deploying an initial number of 2,000 police forces in the process.
