Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) arrested the second most wanted person (municipal level) in Maguindanao del Norte.
The suspect is also a known leader of a suspected private armed group, authorities said.
Acting on a tip-off, joint operatives of Sultan Mastura MPS (Lead Unit), together with Police Intelligence Unit-Maguindanao, Regional Intelligence Unit-15, and Regional Intelligence Division PRO-BAR, proceeded to the area and served the warrant of arrest against the accused, who was charged for a violation of Article 248 (Murder) issued by the Presiding Judge of the 12th Judicial Region, Branch 14 of Cotabato City, dated September 4, 2013.
The operation was executed without any resistance from the accused, who was fully informed of his rights and the nature of his arrest. He is currently in the custody of Sultan Mastura MPS, where he is undergoing documentation and awaiting the issuance of a Commitment Order from the court.
Police Brigadier General Prexy Tanggawohn, Acting Regional Director of PRO BAR, applauded the coordinated efforts of the Sultan Mastura Municipal Police Station and all the involved units for their professionalism and swift action.
