The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) installed Brigadier General Francis Anthony Coronel as their new Financial Management (J10) chief, replacing Major General Rolando Nerona following his mandatory retirement.
In a joint ceremony held on Tuesday, August 20, Coronel was introduced as the new Deputy Chief of Staff for Financial Management after the stint of Nerona. AFP Deputy Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Charlton Sean Gaerlan presided over the event.
Nerona’s distinguished 34-year career in the AFP includes serving as Deputy Chief of the Management and Fiscal Office (MFO) of the Philippine Army before his assignment as J10. He is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990.
During the ceremony, Gaerlan expressed deep appreciation for Nerona’s exemplary leadership and service. He also encouraged Coronel to uphold the high standards of efficiency and integrity in AFP’s financial management.
“The transition signifies a new chapter for the AFP’s financial management team, reinforcing the organization’s dedication to excellence and accountability,” said AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad.
