The Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) granted a one-month moratorium on monthly payments for beneficiaries affected by Typhoon Carina.
This followed a call from Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar to help the typhoon victims.
As part of DHSUD’s disaster response effort to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s directive to extend all necessary assistance to those impacted by the typhoon, Secretary Acuzar issued a memorandum ordering key shelter agencies (KSAs), including SHFC, to grant a one-month payment moratorium for areas severely affected by the typhoon.
SHFC Memorandum Circular No. 24-068 indicates the prescribed guidelines and procedures for the implementation of the moratorium. The circular covers a one-month moratorium from Aug. 1 to 31, 2024, and applies to identified and qualified member-beneficiaries.
