The Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT) is calling on Filipino cybersecurity experts to enter the inaugural AJCCA Cyber Resilience Awards (ACRA).
This event aims to recognize cybersecurity experts from Japan and ASEAN countries who have delivered outstanding contributions to cybersecurity and cyber resilience, with the awards ceremony scheduled for October 17, 2024, in Singapore.
Lito Averia, president of PH-CERT, emphasized that ACRA offers a platform for Filipino professionals to share their experiences with peers across Asia.
“As one of the most cyber-attacked countries in the world, the Philippines has its share of cyber resilience stories on how cybersecurity professionals were able to help their respective organizations bounce back from cyber intrusions,” he remarked.
Dr. Ludi Lumanto, the founding chairman of the ASEAN Japan Cybersecurity Community Alliance (AJCCA) , highlighted the increasing importance of cybersecurity as digital transformation accelerates.
“Across Japan and ASEAN countries, the awards will highlight the diverse and dynamic approaches to cybersecurity and cyber resilience, from emerging digital economies to established technology hubs,” Dr. Lumanto added.
He also mentioned that the awards will showcase diverse cybersecurity approaches across Japan and ASEAN countries, fostering regional collaboration.
Sam Jacoba, AJCCA head of Strategic Communications, explained that nominees will be evaluated based on five criteria: Dynamic Leadership, Resilience, Trustworthiness, Respect, and Collaboration.
“ACRA will recognize individuals and their bodies of work from 2019 to August 2024 in cybersecurity and cyber resilience in the AJCCA countries,” he explained.
The founding Communities of Practice within AJCCA will nominate and validate candidates from each country.
Each country will select winners who will then compete for the main awards, including one Most Distinguished Awardee and two Distinguished Awardees.
The ACRA ceremony will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.
Winners from the nine participating countries will receive complimentary roundtrip airfare and accommodations for the event.
