The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Saturday donated a total of 4 million pesos as disaster relief to a non-profit organization.
AFP Chief General Romeo Brawner Jr. turned over the check during the GMAKFI’s Sagip Dugtong Buhay bloodletting activity.
AFP said the contribution came from soldiers donating a portion of their subsistence allowance.
“We know that the GMA Kapuso Foundation will put this amount to good use. Yung mga proyekto that we jointly undertook already, like school buildings and bridges, we hope that this amount will also help rebuild infrastructure that was destroyed by Typhoon Carina,” General Brawner said during the turnover ceremony.
Last month, AFP also donated its personnel’s one time meal allowance for typhoon victims.
