National Amnesty Commission (NAC) Commissioner Jamar M. Kulayan and Carlito Galvez Jr., Secretary of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) handed over a amnesty application forms to North Eastern Mindanao Commander of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) and a current Member of Parliament Abdullah Macapaar.
Also known as “Kumander Bravo,” Macapaar urged members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and decommissioned combatants to apply for amnesty to aid their reintegration into civilian life.
Secretary Galvez announced this during the Inter-Cabinet Cluster Mechanism on Normalization (ICCMN) Caravan at Camp Bilal in Monai, Lanao del Norte, on Thursday.
The NAC’s amnesty program is open to members of the MILF, MNLF, and the Rebolusyonaryong Partidong Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPMP-RPA-ABB) until March 4, 2026.
Former rebels of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) have until March 14, 2026, to apply for amnesty for their political offenses.
Commissioner Kulayan advised MILF members intending to participate in the First Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections to apply for amnesty soon to ensure the NAC can process their applications before the October deadline for filing certificates of candidacy.
