Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr. has commended the outgoing Defense attaché of Spain to the Philippines during a courtesy call on the former last Wednesday.
Col. Javier Martin Gil, the outgoing Defense Attaché of Spain, was honored with the AFP’s commendation medal and ribbon in recognition of his dedicated service and contributions to strengthening defense relations between Spain and the Philippines.
"The commendation was a testament Gil's efforts in fostering military cooperation and enhancing bilateral defense engagements between the two nations." AFP spokesman Col. Xerxes Trinidad said.
During the meeting, Brawner expressed his gratitude to Gil for “exemplary work” while in Manila. At the same time, Brawner welcomed Gil’s replacement, Col. Santiago Martin Sanz, and expressed optimism for continued bilateral collaboration and strengthened defense ties.
AFP said that the courtesy call signifies the ongoing commitment of both nations to maintaining strong defense relations and working together to promote peace and security in the region.
