The National Amnesty Commission (NAC) reported on Sunday that they met with Isabela Local Government Unit to discuss the establishment and composition of a Local Amnesty Board (LAB) within the said province.
The meeting delegation was led by its chairperson Leah Tanodra-Armamento and Provincial Administrator of Isabela Atty. Noel Manuel R. Lopez.
The LAB will act as the frontline office for the NAC, focusing on receiving and processing amnesty applications, particularly from former members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and their affiliated organizations.
During the visit on Friday, Chairperson Tanodra-Armamento provided a brief overview of the NAC’s mandate followed by a discussion led by Atty. Lopez on the situation of Former Rebels (FRs) in the province, especially the FR surrenderees who have benefited from programs provided by the Isabela Government.
