The Las Piñas City government has recently organized a family planning caravan in Almana Uno Covered Court which was participated by 300 women.
The event, initiated by the City Health Office, aimed to promote responsible parenthood and family planning, offering various services.
Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar and City Health Office OIC Dr. Juliana Gonzalez were in attendance, demonstrating the administration’s dedication to public health and family welfare.
The caravan featured lectures on responsible parenthood and family planning, and attendees were provided with different family planning methods such as condoms, pills, injectables, and progestin subdermal implants.
Additionally, there were booths available for green card applications and civil registry services. Aguilar said the initiative is part of the local government’s endeavor to ensure a progressive city through well-planned families.
“This program aims to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality by preventing frequent and closely spaced pregnancies, multiple pregnancies, high-risk pregnancies, and pregnancies among young or older women. It also aims to address unwanted and unplanned pregnancies,” she said.
