The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Saturday expressed gratitude to several private companies for donating relief goods to aid the victims of Typhoon Carina.
These donations were handed over to the OCD and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for efficient distribution on Wednesday at the NDRRM Operations Center, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) collaborated with fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) for the said donations, totaling PHP7.9 million.
“These donations from various companies will greatly assist the families affected by the recent typhoon, and will be utilized to bolster our ongoing response efforts in aiding all the affected regions,” said Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno.
Donors include Century Pacific Food Inc., San Miguel Corporation, Monde Nissin, Unilever Philippines Inc., Procter & Gamble, and Universal Robina Corporation.
