The Regional Mobile Force Battalion personnel, led by Police Executive Master Sergeant (PEMS) Paquito Chan Jr, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Las Piñas Central, donated bicycles to 22 students at Kaysuyo National High School in Alfonso, Cavite on Tuesday.
The project, called “Bisikleta Para sa Pangarap” (Bicycle for the Dream), aims to alleviate the daily struggles of 22 students who walk a 10-kilometer journey to attend school.
These students, from grades 7 to 10, received brand-new mountain bikes complete with helmets.
The idea for this impactful project was initiated by Kaysuyo National High School Principal, Ms. Lorena Blancaflor, who recognized the hardships faced by students undertaking long daily commutes on foot.
Seeking support from various stakeholders, Ms. Blancaflor’s efforts connected her with PEMS Chan and the Rotary Club of Las Piñas Central, who embraced the cause.
During the donation event, the students also received packed lunches, vitamins, and 14 sacks of rice.
