It said the estimated number of consumer connections reached 114,565, with an initial reported damage cost of P3.142 million.

Nine ECs are still experiencing partial interruptions namely Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative, Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative, Benguet Electric Cooperative, Mountain Province Electric Cooperative, Abra Electric Cooperative, Zambales Electric Cooperative II, Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Tarlac Electric Cooperative and Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative.

NEA directed the ECs to conduct damage assessment and line clearing of their affected distribution lines and facilities, as well as restore the electric service in areas, which were not affected by the flooding and weather disturbance but temporarily shut off for safety reasons.

The agency asked the ECs to submit the damage and power situation reports to NEA Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD), including the schedule of partial and complete electric service restoration to consumers, whether or not there is/are damages or power interruption/s brought about by the said weather disturbance.

It also directed the ECs to take the appropriate contingency measures to mitigate the impacts of the potential threats that might affect electric service to their respective consumers.

NEA said ECs should activate their Emergency Response Organization (ERO) when the need arises to implement without delay the appropriate emergency response plans.
