The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said it has completed the widening of the Sagana Bridge along the Bongabong-Sagana-Roxas-San Aquilino Road.
DPWH Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that the the widened bridge ensures reinforced resilience and durability, especially to heavy vehicles traversing the Sagana bridge, hence augmenting transportation of local goods and access to essential services to its neighboring towns and municipalities.
The project covers the construction of two (2) additional lanes or one ane on both sides of the bridge complementing the existing two lanes designed to cater to the increasing number of motorists in the area.
Implemented by DPWH Southern Mindoro District Engineering Office, the completed bridge project also involves the widening of the carriageway, and the construction of approach slabs, retaining walls, “Through the widening improvements of the Sagana Bridge, which complements the Bongabong-Sagana-Roxas-San Aquilino Road, residents and motorists in the area can now expect smoother and faster travel time,” Pacanan said.
Costing P22.92 Million, the completed project is funded under the 2023 Regular Infrastructure Program.
