While Pia Wurtzbach is best known for taking home the Miss Universe title in 2015, her journey towards the crown was greatly influenced by her time in the prestigious Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
A decade after her first appearance in the competition, the beauty queen returned to grace its stage for the pageant’s 60th anniversary as one of the members of the selection committee, taking the time to reminisce over old memories.
In her Instagram post, Wurtzbach shared various photos of the warm welcome she received from Novotel Manila Araneta City and the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.
“Back where it all began, and it’s truly surreal that 10 years have passed. The first time I set foot at Araneta was during the 50th anniversary [of Binibining Pilipinas] and it was unforgettable. It changed my life forever,” said the beauty queen.
“Heartfelt thanks to @bbpilipinasofficial for the invitation!” she added.
Joining Wurtzbach in the selection committee were Binibining Pilipinas executive committee member Conchitina Sevilla-Bernardo, beauty and wellness entrepreneur Rhea Tan, Miss International 2013 Bea Santiago, volleyball player Fifi Sharma, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss International 2023 Andrea Rubio, and Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran.
