The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a magnitude 4.8 earthquake in Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, Thursday morning.
In its Earthquake Information Number 1 advisory, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 9:53am with the epicenter traced to 13.18 degrees north, 120.28 degrees east – 032 km south 37 degrees west of Paluan.
The Phivolcs also said that an Instrumentality Intensity I advisory was placed in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro and in Calatagan, Batangas while Intensity II was placed in the City of Calapan and Abra de Ilog also in Occidental Mindoro.
Instrumentality Intensity III is meanwhile reported in Puerto Galera and Mamburao, both in Occidental Mindoro.
Intensity II was also placed in Tagaytay City, Cavite.
“No damage was monitored and no aftershocks were expected,” Phivolcs said.
