Philippines’ largest hotel inaugurated in Megaworld’s Westside City

If the official launch of Megaworld’s Grand Westside Hotel in Parañaque City were an entertainment event, it could easily be described as star-studded with none other than the country’s highest government official in attendance.

Other prominent personalities joining the president were Speaker Martin Romualdez, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. chairman Alejandro Tengco, and Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez.

During his speech, Marcos said the 19-story establishment with over 1,500 rooms would not only strengthen the government’s tourism campaign but would also generate more jobs and business opportunities for Filipinos.

“Thanks to this hotel, we can do more. Not only can we accommodate the resurging number of local and international tourists coming to this side of Metro Manila, but we can also expect our Entertainment City to become better known and even more distinguished, elevating its status to more potential visitors in the coming years,” Marcos elaborated.

The President also said the hotel’s addition to Philippine tourism is particularly noteworthy in light of the sector’s “remarkable” growth, which contributed 8.6 percent to the country’s gross domestic product in 2023.

“With all these, we foresee not only the entry of more tourists but also the generation of more jobs, of new businesses, and greater opportunity. In fact, [while] many have benefitted from the actual construction of these [properties], around 20,000 direct and indirect jobs will still be created throughout the operation of this hotel in the years to come,” he added.

Located within Megaworld’s 31-hectare Westside City township at the bustling Entertainment City in Parañaque City, Grand Westside Hotel offers a variety of room types and sizes, bannered by presidential suites that feature its own living, dining, and kitchen spaces. Other room types include Queen Suites, Twin Suites, and Executive Suites. It will also have dedicated rooms designed specifically for specially-abled guests.

“Grand Westside Hotel is the latest addition to Megaworld’s Westside City township, which continues to take shape today as the ‘Broadway of Asia.’ The hotel offers guests a wide variety of room selections, each one designed for the varied preferences of guests, whether they are traveling for business or leisure. Even more exciting is the fact that the hotel sits along Manila Bay, which allows guests to marvel and enjoy the captivating sunset from this side of Metro Manila,” said Cleofe Albiso, managing director, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts.

The Grand Westside Hotel offers diverse dining options, including Café by Westside, an all-day restaurant serving Filipino and international cuisines, the Zabana Bar on the ground floor, and the Plunge Bar on the fifth-floor open deck. LaMeza, a specialty restaurant, will open later this year.

Inspired by waves approaching the shore, the hotel features a two-level retail and commercial space. Guests are greeted by a high-ceiling lobby with a contemporary design using natural elements. The fifth floor boasts first-class amenities, including a pool with Manila Bay sunset views, a children’s pool, gazebo, Zen garden, and an outdoor seating area with colorful shrubs.

Function rooms cater to various events, while a fitness gym, massage rooms, and an Executive Lounge for VIP guests complete the amenities. The hotel will be connected to the upcoming Westside Resort complex, featuring four theaters, including the 2,000-seat Grand Opera House.

Celebrating Megaworld’s 35th anniversary, the Grand Westside Hotel supports Philippine tourism and job creation. Megaworld committed P64 billion to develop Westside City within 10 years. The hotel, managed by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, is the second in Westside City, following the 529-room Kingsford Hotel Manila.

Megaworld Hotels & Resorts has launched 20 hotel properties across the Philippines, including Richmonde Hotels, Savoy Hotels, Belmont Hotels, Kingsford Hotels, Twin Lakes Hotel, Hotel Lucky Chinatown, ArcoVia Hotel, Paragua Sands Hotel, and Chancellor Hotel Boracay.
