Mon Abrea takes on his new role as Chief Tax Advocate and Senior Advisor on Tax Policy Reforms. Abrea will lead ACG’s collaborations with international organizations such as the International Tax and Investment Center (ITIC), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Abrea has honed his expertise through his long track record of tax advocacy and providing expert tax advice to businesses in the Philippines. He has recently graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School and will be continuing taking up the Executive Leadership Program at the Oxford Institute in July of this year.
As part of his role, he has conducted investment and tax briefings for various foreign investors, multinational corporations, and fintech enterprises throughout Asia, United States and Europe. He will continue the international tax and investment roadshow in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the Middle East.
Together with Abrea, ACG’s Chairman Jose Magsaysay, Jr. and Vice Chairman Ramon “Mon” Lopez will lead the establishment of a strong presence across Asia, the United States, Europe, Australia, Canada, and the Middle East.
He will be working closely with ACG’s Vice Chairman, Mon Lopez, who has a long track record of service in both the public and the private sector. He has served as the Secretary of Trade and Industry from 2016 to 2022, and will be leveraging his experience to guide ACG establish more partnerships with foreign investors and businesses.
Recently, ACG has joined the London Chamber of Commerce as the first Philippine-based company promoting the Philippines as an investment destination for investors and companies in the United Kingdom.
ACG is also actively collaborating with various foreign chambers of commerce and business organizations in the Philippines about promoting investing and doing business in the Philippines and tax-related policy reforms, updates and seminars.
