BTr raises P15b from T-bills sale

The government sold P15 billion worth of Treasury bills Monday, according to the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr).

It said its auction committee fully awarded bids for T-bills at Monday’s auction, with the 91-, 182- and 364-day debt papers fetching average rates of 5.698 percent, 5.904 percent and 6.046 percent, respectively.

These are lower than the prevailing secondary market rates, it said.

The auction was nearly 3.0 times oversubscribed, attracting P44.0 billion in total tenders.

“With its decision, the committee raised the full program of P15.0 billion for the auction,” the BTr said.
