Beauty queen and actress Celeste Cortesi found herself under scrutiny following her comments about the results of the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2024 coronation night.
In a post shared to her Instagram stories as well as her account on X, the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 titleholder expressed her confusion about the pageant results.
“WHAT JUST HAPPENED #muph2024,” said Cortesi in her post.
“Ang ganda ganda ni Christi tas perfect yung answer nya !!!!!” she added.
Her words were badly received by some pageant fans, leading them to flood her replies with negative comments. Following the backlash from angry fans, Cortesi later shared another statement.
“Ya’ll need to chill. Haha. What I meant by what happened is how the other crowns were distributed. Where’s Cainta? Where’s Taguig? Stop trying to make an issue. I have my bets, but I fully support whoever wins,” she said.
“Now, woke up in Bali. Peace out everyoneeee,” she added in another post.
Cortesi won the Miss Universe Philippines crown in 2022 and served as the Philippines’ candidate for the Miss Universe pageant that same year but was unplaced, ending the country’s 12-year streak of reaching the Top 16 of the prestigious competition.
Chelsea Manalo from Bulacan was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and will be competing at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico later this year.
