“So when I found out about this, I talked to Mr. Manny Pangilinan of Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water to restore the normal water supply while we look for a long-term solution to this problem,” Mr. Marcos said.

Pangilinan’s Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water recently halted water supply to the Cagayan de Oro Water District due to a debt of more than P400 million,

According to the President, Pangilinan has agreed to cooperate and is ready to meet with the city mayor to address the issue and provide necessary water supply to over sixty thousand residents in CDO.

Furthermore, President Marcos instructed the Local Water Utilities Administration to study the possible management of the Cagayan de Oro Water District to promptly find solutions to the water supply situation in the area.

This includes setting appropriate water rates and ensuring compliance with obligations to consumers and suppliers.

“We will not let the people of Cagayan de Oro be deprived of their right to have sufficient, clean, and safe water supply,” the President said.
