A JAPANESE national wanted for abduction and rape in Japan will be deported soon following his arrest in Paranaque City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.
The foreigner, identified as Sugihara Hirotaka, who had been hiding in the Philippines since 2019, was cornered along Dr. A. Santos Ave., San Dionisio, Parañaque by operatives of the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU).
BI chief Norman Tansingco said Hirotaka will be sent back to Japan as he was already ordered expelled by the BI in August 2021 under a directive by the BI’s board of commissioners.
“We will deport him as soon as we have secured the necessary clearances for his departure. He cannot return to the Philippines as he was already blacklisted and banned from re-entering the country,” Tansingco added.
Hirotaka’s arrest and deportation was sought by Japanese authorities in Manila as early as August 2021 after he was implicated in the abduction and rape of a woman in Osaka in 2019.
Hirotaka allegedly abducted a young female and brought her to an abandoned area in Osaka where she was sexually molested.
