BPI Tokyo Century Rental Corp. (BPITCRC) teamed up with BYD Cars Philippines to offer BYD Atto 3 electric vehicles for rent or lease to the public through Diamond Rent-a-Car, BPITCRC’s car rental and leasing arm, promoting EV adoption for sustainability goals.
The rental access partnership signaled BYD’s official entry into the Philippine EV leasing market. BYD is committed to environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives to promote sustainable transportation solutions.
BPITCRC and BYD plan to collaborate on programs that further synergize their sustainability efforts, contributing positively to the Philippines’ environmental landscape.
“We believe the experience of driving a BYD electric vehicle is essential to building a knowledge-driven market,” said ACMobility chief executive Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala.
“The more people are aware of the virtues and rewards of sustainable mobility through electric vehicles, and the more they experience the ACMobility charging ecosystem firsthand, the easier it will be for us to progress towards an all-electric mobility future,” he said.
ACMobility is Ayala Corp.’s end-to-end mobility provider, driving automotive retail and distribution, infrastructure, digital platforms, and services. ACMobility is the exclusive distributor of BYD passenger cars in the Philippines.
BPITCRC president and chief executive Satoshi Matsuo sees the partnership as a significant milestone for the car rental industry.
The company anticipates that the positive driving experience and compliance with corporate ESG goals would encourage customer adoption of BYD electric vehicles through the rental and leasing services offered.
“I believe that the EV Rent-a-Car experience for both individuals and corporations will push customers to choose BYD electric vehicles. Once you drive BYD EV, you will be fascinated by the comfortable experience. Further, this will also contribute to the Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives of corporate clients. We will definitely accelerate the expansion of our business and further build a better Philippines with BYD and AC Mobility,” he said.
