If you think summer is already at its scorching peak, local streaming app Vivamax turns up the heat even further with two brand new films: Late Bloomer and Dirty Ice Cream.
Late Bloomer is a romantic drama that delves into themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery. The story centers on Therese dela Cruz ( Robb Guinto), a woman diagnosed with a terminal illness, who chooses to live life to the fullest in her remaining days. Supported by her best friend, Maddie Reyes (Erika Balagtas), Therese begins a journey of self-exploration that leads them to question the nature of their relationship.
Directed by Rodante Pajemna Jr., Late Bloomer premiered on Vivamax on April 30. Ardy Raymundo and Mikhael Padua round out the cast.
Dirty Ice Cream, on the other hand, takes a turn towards the sexy and thrilling. This heist film centers around two hunky sorbeteros, Junebert (Ghion Espinosa) and Monch (Seonwoo Kim), who become the center of attention for a group of bored housewives in a Manila subdivision.
When a blackout hits during the peak of summer, the women see their chance for some excitement and indulge in illicit affairs with Junebert and Monch. However, the tables are soon turned as the seemingly innocent sorbeteros reveal their true motives.
Directed by Mervyn Brondial, Dirty Ice Cream premieres on Vivamax on May 10. The cast includes Christy Imperial, Yda Manzano, Jem Milton, and Candy Veloso.
Late Bloomer and Dirty Ice Cream are available on Vivamax website and mobile app.
