The Bicol region prepares for liftoff with the inaugural Bicol Loco Festival this weekend, promising a unique blend of adventure and entertainment. The event kicks off today with a concert featuring OPM stars Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo.
The centerpiece of the inaugural Bicol Loco Festival is the Bicol Hot Air Balloon event, offering attendees breathtaking morning flights against the stunning backdrop of Mayon Volcano. As the sun sets, the festivities shift to the Old Legazpi Airport for a lineup of popular Filipino musicians. Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo will perform on opening night, followed by Ely Buendia and Jericho Rosales on May 4. The fest will conclude on May 5.
Envisioned by Ako Bicol Party-List Representative Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co, the Bicol Loco Festival aims to showcase the region’s natural beauty and vibrant culture.
“This grand festival is more than just an event, it’s a platform for cultural exchange, a catalyst for economic development, and a grandiose expression of pride for the Mayon Volcano and the Bicol region’s vibrant heritage,” he said.
The festival’s rich program, featuring both hot air ballooning by day and musical performances by night, positions it as a landmark event that celebrates the adventurous spirit and musical heritage of Bicol.

Bicol, located in the southeastern part of Luzon, is known for its stunning natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and unique cultural traditions. The region consists of six provinces: Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon. It is also home to other popular festivals, such as the Magayon Festival in Albay and the Peñafrancia Fiesta in Naga City.
