During the BingoPlus-sponsored media day event at the picturesque Lima Park Hotel and Batangas Lakelands, Miss Universe Philippines 2024 contestants shared insights into their preparation for the upcoming pageant, shedding light on the role of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), in honing their question and answer (Q&A) skills.
Several contestants, including Miss Siargao Joshell de Ocampo and Miss Pasig Selena Alexis Antonio-Reyes, highlighted the use of ChatGPT, an AI-powered language model, in refining their responses. They praised its ability to provide ideas and information quickly, especially when faced with tight schedules and early morning call times.
However, not all contestants rely on AI for their preparation. Miss Mandaue Victoria Leslie Ingram prefers a more traditional approach, turning to books and live talks to broaden her perspectives on various topics.
She emphasizes the importance of genuine self-expression in Q&A sessions, suggesting that personal experiences and opinions should take precedence over AI-generated responses.
Miss Southern California Janet Hammond echoed this sentiment, viewing AI as a helpful tool but emphasizing the need for authenticity in conveying the Filipino identity and its values.
She stressed that while technology has advanced, it should complement rather than replace human insight and emotion.
Similarly, Miss Quezon Province Maria Ahtisa Manalo emphasized the uniqueness of each contestant’s perspective, asserting that there is no right answer in Q&A sessions. While AI can aid in gathering information, she believes that personal opinions and values should shape responses.
With the coronation looming, all eyes will be set on these exceptional women, specifically the individual journeys and struggles they experience as they grow closer to the coronation.
They will have to navigate and strike a balance between leveraging technology and staying true to themselves in pursuit of the coveted Miss Universe Philippines crown.
