The month-long celebration of Muntinlupa’s Responsible-18 or R-18 concluded in an electrifying concert in Alabang with an estimated 16,000 crowd.
The stage came alive with performances from SUD, Nobita, Quest, Janine Teñoso, and The Juans.
Local talents also took center stage, as The Nomads, The Last Sonnet, and the BFP Panther Echo Band showcased their musical talents to an enthusiastic crowd. The winners of R-18 dance contest also performed at the concert.
R-18 Month, a unique Muntinlupa tradition, draws inspiration from coming-of-age celebrations observed in other cultures such as Japan and Korea. Throughout the month-long festivities, Muntinlupa aims to guide and empower teenagers as they transition into responsible young adults, all the while savoring the privileges that accompany legal maturity.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon, alongside other city officials, led the Panata ng Kabataang Muntinlupeño, formally welcoming the youth into the realm of adulthood. The “Panata” outlines “Munteens” pledge to be responsible citizens.
Mayor Biazon also surprised the “MunTeens” as he graced the stage by joining The Juans in singing their hit song, “Pwede ba kitang ligawan.”
