THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has delivered over 50 million National identification cards (IDs) to registered persons nationwide and over 45,157,255 ePhilIDs—both printed and downloaded—as of last April 12.
The PSA said a total of 50,063,728 National IDs were sent out across the country.
“This is a significant milestone in the implementation of the National ID system,” said PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa, national statistician and civil registrar general.
“With more Filipinos receiving their National ID, the PSA shall continue to promote its use and acceptance among national government agencies and relying parties. It is our goal that the National ID will be on top of every Filipino’s mind to be used in their transactions requiring proof of identity or age,” he said.
Zenaida Lo Armillos of Paracale, Camarines Norte was also able to use her National ID in claiming benefits from the Tulong Pangkabuhayan Sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), a community-based assistance package providing emergency employment from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
“Irerekomenda ko po na magpa-register din sila dahil lahat ng transaksyon talaga kailangan ng valid ID, at itong National ID, libre lang (I recommend that they also register because a valid ID is needed in all transactions, and the National ID is free of charge),” she said.
Apart from the National ID, the PSA has been actively issuing ePhilIDs to registered persons. The ePhilID, just like the National ID, can be presented as valid proof of identity in transactions.
Parallel to ID issuance efforts, the PSA continues its registration activities to accommodate the last mile of the population.
Registration Centers remain open for walk-ins. Mobile and institutional registration is conducted in Geographically-Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs), and public and private establishments, respectively.

As of 12 April 2024, 86,010,705 Filipinos have already registered with the National ID system.
