State-run Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC) said Monday it plans to deploy Solar Mill technology across small island communities under its memorandum of understanding (MOU) with WindStream Energy Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.
SolarMill technology is a revolutionary, unique hybrid, wind and solar renewable energy system. It is a modular and scalable clean energy solution that integrates solar panels and vertical-axis wind turbines with magnet generators developed by Windstream Energy Technologies India
The MOU, signed on April 19, 2024 at the PNOC Corporate Office, establishes a strategic partnership between PNOC and Windstream. It aligns with PNOC’s Arrow 3 strategy transitioning towards a social enterprise model and supporting the electrification goals of the national government.
The collaboration between PNOC and Windstream aims to support the National Power Corp.’s (NPC) hybridization program for the Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) areas.

Windstream managing director Venkat Kumar Tangirala said leveraging SolarMill technology would help address energy challenges in the Philippines.
