Andy Barroca unloaded 27 points for the Magnolia Timplados Hotshots, whose last quarter onslaught allowed them shake off the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 107-93, in the Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Ian Sangalang added 23 points for the Hotshots, who pulled off back-to-back wins to gain a 3-2 win-loss record.

Jio Jalalon knocked in 13 points as the Hotshots improved to seventh spot.

The Hotshot took advantage of two turnovers and two missed shots of the Fuel Masters in the last 8:07 to move out of range.

With the Hotshots slightly ahead, 79-77, Abu Tratter banged in six points during a 12-2 run which put them ahead, 91-79.

RJ Jazul topscored with 21 points for the Fuel Masters, who dropped behind at 2-5.

Coach Chito Victolero said the Hotshots were outworked in the first half by the Fuel Masters, who scored 39 points, mostly off Jazul, who had 11 points in the second period.

“We allowed them to score 39 points in the second quarter. That’s not us. But thanks to this guy, Andy Barroca, we got back,” said Victolero.

The Fuel Masters were ahead by 11, 55-44, at halftime, because of Jazul’s big plays.

But the Hotshots managed to build an 18-point edge, 103-85, in the fourth, off Barroca’s trey in the final period 3:41.
