National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan found himself and other employees of his agency trapped inside an elevator for nearly two hours Thursday afternoon.
Balisacan shared photos of the incident on his Facebook page, where he and his colleagues could be seen calmly waiting for help to arrive.
“Longest elevator ride – just thankful that we were all safe,” he wrote in the caption.
They were reportedly on their way to the ceremonial signing of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code, which was scheduled at the NEDA Central Office at The Megatower in Mandaluyong City.
NEDA holds main offices at the 32nd and 34th floors of the building.
Based on Balisacan’s photos, they got stuck on the 19th floor. They exited the elevator through a small space in between the floors using a ladder.
No one was hurt, but the PPP Code signing got delayed because of the incident.
