Integrated transportation and logistics provider 2GO Group Inc., a unit of the SM Group, announced the expansion of its operations in Davao and General Santos with the addition of new vessels.
The company said in a statement the move is part of its commitment to fostering economic growth and improving connections in Mindanao. Investments in infrastructure, technology and personnel aim to elevate travel and logistics experiences for both individuals and businesses.
The MV 2GO Masigla, the latest addition to the company’s fleet, embarked on its maiden voyage on March 18, 2024. The vessel sails from Davao and General Santos to Iloilo before returning to Manila along the Manila-Davao-General Santos-Iloilo-Manila route.
Residents and visitors in Davao and General Santos now have enhanced travel options with 2GO’s new routes. Businesses in the region benefit from upgraded logistics, ensuring faster movement of goods.
The company said Davao and General Santos also provide logistical and travel support to nearby areas like Tagum, Digos, Kidapawan and Soccsksargen, allowing for efficient coordination across the region.
“Our increased presence in Davao and General Santos reflects our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Frederic DyBuncio, president and chief executive of 2GO. “We are confident that these enhancements will contribute significantly to the overall growth and prosperity of the regions.”
The expansion strengthens 2GO’s position as a key player in the Philippine travel and logistics industry, the company said.
It said that in addition to cargo transport services between Manila, Davao and General Santos, 2GO offers passenger travel on the MV 2GO Masigla. The vessel features amenities similar to those found in restaurants, hotels, and salons, with onboard entertainment options like karaoke rooms. Passengers can also shop at retail outlets carrying popular brands and enjoy refreshments from Café 2GO.
Sea travel reservations are available from Manila to Davao or General Santos and vice versa, as well as from Davao or General Santos to Iloilo and Manila, starting at 1,140 pesos. The company’s comprehensive range of shipping services is also fully operational and ready for scheduling.
