Bretman Rock, who previously honored his past as “a little brown boy,” was hailed by the Hawaii House of Representatives for bringing positive attention to Hawaii and to Filipino-Americans.
On Instagram, the influencer posted videos and photos from the ceremony, which he said came with “a whole lechon for lunch.”
“Thank you so much for the opportunity, I never thought this wouldever happen,” Bretman said.
“I was just an Ewa Beach boy twerking behind the manapua truck, giving MTV crib tours of my high school and singing my boba song everywhere,” he added.
He said sharing the honor with the Filipino caucus made it unforgettable.
“It was so fun and so brown I loved every moment of it and spending it with my people!”
“And girl they had a whole lechon for me for lunch!!! I really felt like a queen.”
Bretman last visited the Philippines in August for a belated birthday celebration.
