Criss Cross will make its much-awaited debut against fellow newcomer Maverick while Savouge Aesthetics will face off against VNS-Nasty in the second day of the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference today (Friday) at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

The King Crunchers, who will start their campaign without ace spiker Marck Espejo, will rely on veterans Ysay Marasigan, Kim Malabunga, and Vince Mangulabnan against the Hard Hitters led by Razzel Palisoc and Jerome Cordez at 4:00 p.m.

Tai Bundit, who is set to make his coaching return with Criss Cross, is very confident that his team has what it takes to compete after seeing positive results during their build up.

Bundit is also motivated to repay the trust given by the Rebisco franchise and vowed to help the King Crunchers reach their ultimate goal of winning the Spikers’ Turf championship.

“My players [are] very good, they concentrate to train in the training and I will support them to be better players,” said the decorated Thai coach.

“I have experience, I will do better in the men’s team [in] Rebisco. Now I feel happy because my boss [is] really kind to me. Boss Jonathan [Ng] is really kind to me,” added Bundit.

Meanwhile, Maverick head coach Erickson Ramos is optimistic that the Hard Hitters can pose a great threat to the King Crunchers in their debut.

“Lagi naman may chance e depende na lang po kung paano magpe-perform and papaano susunod sa sistema yung mga players,” said Ramos.

In the nightcap, the Griffins, bannered by Kennry Malinis and Wewe Medina, will take on the Spin Doctors, who will be leaning on Lorenz Senoron anew, at 6:00 p.m.
