THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in North Western Luzon has rescued a fisherman who has been missing for three days at the open sea off Agno Pangasinan on March 10.
The fisherman was identified as Dexter Abalos, 32, of Brgy Aloleng, Agno, Pangasinan.
According to Abalos, he went out to fish last March 7. But coming home, his motorboat was hit by a dolphin, causing it to capsize.
Fortunately, he managed to swim towards a fish marker, locally known as “payao” and tied his banca to it.
Abalos stayed adrift for three days waiting for to be rescued.
With the help of the PCG Aircraft (BN ISLANDER PCG- 251), the missing fisherman was located through air surveillance that the Coast Guard Aviation Force (CGAF) conducted earlier this morning.
