Lalisa Manobal, better known as Lisa from KPOP girl group Blackpink, is set to make her acting debut as she joins the cast of “The White Lotus” for its upcoming third season.
According to Variety, Lisa’s role has yet to be revealed along with the plot details for the third season of HBO’s hit comedy-drama series.
Apart from being her acting debut, this new role will make Lisa the second member of Blackpink to land a role in an HBO series. Notably, her co-member Jennie had debuted in ‘The Idol’ starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, last June 2023.
Lisa will be joining its ensemble cast which includes Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, Christian Friedel, Julian Kostov, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Shalini Peiris, Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Natasha Rothwell, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola.
‘The White Lotus’ revolves around the story of guests and employees in a fictional White Lotus resort chain. The series has received multiple accolades such as 20 Emmy nominations for its first season and 23 for its second, bagging a total of 15 Emmy awards.
The production for its third season is set to begin sometime in February at Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand. Its first two seasons were set in Hawaii and Sicily, respectively. To support the filming and promotion of its third season, HBO had partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Consisting of members Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé, Blackpink has risen to fame throughout the world with their chart-topping songs such as ‘Boombayah’ and ‘Ddu-Du Ddu Du.’ In her solo career, Lisa also had her songs, ‘Lalisa’ and ‘Money’ chart in the top ten of Billboard Global 200.
For the series, Lisa will be represented by LLOUD, her own artist management agency that she recently launched.
