TBPeople Philippines recently signed a memorandum of agreement with Manila Standard to expand the group’s advocacy to eradicate tuberculosis.
The group said this partnership marks “a crucial step in its collective efforts to raise awareness and extend support to fellow Filipinos suffering from tuberculosis.”
The group also said it is embarking on a mission “to disseminate the message of hope and resilience embodied by the hashtags #TibayNgBayanihangPinoy, #TBFreePH, and #YesWeCanEndTB.”
“As partners, we look forward to leveraging our combined strengths to make a meaningful impact in the fight against the disease, contributing to a healthier and TB-free Philippines,” the group, which is composed of individuals who survived the disease, said.
The group also said with the help of its numerous collaborations with other tuberculosis advocacy groups in and out of the country, it aims to provide a holistic approach in the medical and social problem that the disease entails.
TBpeople Philippines Organization Inc. plans to serve the affected
community by providing proper information, improving service delivery, and infrastructures, increasing demand generation by effective advocacy campaigns on local and national levels, and being involved with monitoring and evaluation of the TB program in the country to identify lapses.
Its mission is to fix the stigma associated with the communicable disease and lessen the negative experiences due to discrimination faced by Persons treating TB and TBP’s increasing champion survivors.
TBpeople Philippines Organization Inc. will continuously find protection for the affected on socio-economic and legal barriers of this global health crisis.
